My 1995 chevy lumina just died going down the street?

I was going down the street last night and it just quit. I lost all power except a few little things like instrument lights. And when I honked the horn the dome light came on. Weird! I had to get a tow. Engine will not turn over and the batter is good. Can any one tell me what's going on?
