Is my little girl to young to have her ears peiced?

my little girl is 5 1/2 and she asked if she can have her ear done i alway said if she asks then she can have them done i have 3 holes in my ears and know it hurts and i was a 6 when i had mine done the 1st time and i went to a wedding and a man elbowed me in the ear and the gold stud part went in my ear and i had to go to hospital and have it pulled out may be if she has them done may be best to do it in the summer holidays any advice would be great !x
