What can cause an antifreeze leak?

I have a 2000 lumina and I'm leaking antifreeze from somewhere. It only leaks bad when then reserve is empty. It comin from the middle of the engine but I can't find it. I just changed the thermostat but it look like its coming somewhere around that area. What else could b the problem.
